Biology
Our bodies need four types of macromolecules to survive. Carbohydrates are carbon rings attached to oxygen and hydrogen atoms. Monosaccharides, such as glucose, are the body's main method of acquiring energy. Polysaccharides, such as glycogen, are used for short term energy storage. Lipids are groups of fatty acid chains. They are primarily used for long term energy storage. Proteins are the most complex and versatile macromolecules. They are used in structures, chemical reactions, inter-cellular communication, and other processes. Nucleic acids, such as DNA, provide the genetic code for a cell.
Reflection
For this lab, I did well cooperating with my group. Everyone did roughly equal amounts of work for the whole project. I was also a good leader, keeping the rest of my team on task as much as possible.
In the future, I need to be a bit more careful. I accidentally spilled one of our samples for the second part, which could have been important data. Our group could have worked on better time management. We felt very rushed toward the end of the project, as we had spent too long on the earlier parts.

I worked on this project with Rachel Lobl and Robert Orta.
